London, England
Ritina is a visual fine artist, working in acrylics and oils, currently residing in Tennessee U.S.A. She was born in London and spent her childhood there. Later, the family relocated to India, where she spent most of her life. For Ritina, the inclination towards painting and art was a natural transition. Being the daughter of an Architect, who was an extraordinary artist himself, meant that she was exposed to drawings, precision, structure and expression of art from a very young age. During her formative years, she engaged in a great deal of painting techniques, like fabric painting, art on pottery, and wooden surfaces. She has always enjoyed creating beautiful landscapes, but at the same time she loved to create figures from Indian mythology. Starting her career as an artist a mere four years ago, she has watched countless tutorial videos to get to the level of art, that she is on today. She received her formal education and completed her graduation in the field of Zoology. After relocating to the US, she began concentrating on her hobby of painting and found, that people loved what she created. This led her to take up art as a full-time career and dive into it completely. A self-taught artist, who enjoys experimenting with different colors, hues and textures, Ritina’s art is full of bold and vibrant colors. She likes to bring those colors to life in her paintings and enjoys using various surfaces, mediums and textures for painting. She is always keen to try out something new. Her substrate could be anything from canvas, fabric, to wood or earthenware, basically anything that can hold the paint. Her mediums are acrylics and oils., sometimes separately or at times both are incorporated into a single artwork, with certain part of the artwork that require more texture being done in oils. Landscapes being her favorite subject to paint, she still prefers to be a versatile artist, and paints whatever she finds aesthetically beautiful. Her artworks are usually in bold and bright colors, and she relishes incorporating the most minuscule of details into each piece. The fact that there are endless possibilities of colors, textures and compositions that she can explore with different themes is absolutely exhilarating to her.
