For many years, this beautiful composition has been displayed in the entrance hall of the Alicante City Hall, probably, without wanting to go into parallels, one of the best paintings by the painter from Orihuela. Its realism is incredibly meticulous, close to what we would call “hyperrealism” today, where the light from the window is pure magic, and details such as the caged bird, the almost translucent paper of the letter, or the sewing machine, in addition to each garment reflected, makes up a work that, by itself, would put Agrasot in the History of Valencian Art in the 19th century (specifically, he painted it between 1890 and 1895), presiding over his studio until his death, and later being donated by Emma Zaragoza , his beloved wife, to the capital town hall.
